How PassLink Works

PassLink uses client-side encryption to share secrets securely. Here's the step-by-step process:

1. Write Your Secret

Paste your password, API key, or any sensitive text into the encrypted form on passlink.click.

2. Client-Side Encryption

Your secret is encrypted in your browser using AES-128 before it ever leaves your device. The encryption key is generated locally and never sent to our servers.

3. Generate the Link

PassLink creates a unique one-time URL. The decryption key is stored in the URL fragment (#key), which browsers never send to servers.

4. Share the Link

Send the link to your recipient via any channel — email, Slack, WhatsApp, etc. The link shows rich previews when shared.

5. Self-Destruction

Once the recipient views the secret, it is permanently deleted from our servers. The link can never be used again.

Configuration Options

  • Expiration time: Choose from 1 hour to 7 days
  • View limit: Set to single-view or allow multiple views
  • Password protection: Add an extra layer of security with a passphrase
